Snow at the Cortijo We took advantage of a sunny break in the weather to head up to the cortijo hoping to plant some blackcurrant bushes we had bought. No sooner had we settled in than snow showers dusted all with white. During the night there was a hard frost - ice on the puddles and icicles along the azeicia - but as the sun rose to clear blue skies everything sparkled. The snow bound garden meant that planting blackcurrants was postponed to another day. Onions, garlic, leeks and broad beans planted last year are hanging in there. But one almond is beginning to blossom. We hope the rest will wait a while until the danger of frost has passed.
